Finally Jim Cramer listens. BIDU will continue to rise.

November 2nd, 2007 · No Comments

Well it had to happen sometime, but finally Jim Cramer has understood that a high P/E does not mean the stock will fall. In fact history has shown that the best gainers all had very high P/E ratio. Why? well it shows that there is a lot of faith / optimism in a particular company and that the future looks bright. With BIDU (Baidu), virtually every indicator I have looked at (appart from P/E) suggests this stock will continue to rise (at least for now). I have put together an online tracker which will be updated every trading day to help you all track what I believe to be the direction of the stock. It contains a few stocks for now but I will add any suggested on this blog.

You can find it here:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pBJmZjw1TYdFsiRaekwyGGg
If anyone wants me to add a ticker (so long as there is at least 100 days of trading data available), please let me know. I will update it daily with reccomendations. You can then track me over time. You will see over the next months that I do manage to get the sell and buy points right over time. I do not want to show previous progress as I could easily cheat and
thats not the objective.
If you see a hold, that means if you already hold stock, then hold. It is not a signal to buy. With “wait”, that means that if it is in a red phase, you should have already long sold and selling now might not be the best strategy, so its up to you if you choose to sell or hold. In general a Red Phase is not good and can decline for some time. A buy signal will be only generated when a Red Phase (Sell) moves into a Green Phase (Hold). It will be obvious on the spreadsheet when this occurs.
Regards,

Marketing Secrets - Part 1 - Adsense Revenue

May 7th, 2007 · No Comments

Well it’s been a while since my last post as I’ve been busy plodding away on several other online projects, so as I’ve been quiet for some time I thought I’d start up again and give something back to you all for being so patient. This will form part of a mini series which I hope will help you all to increase your online revenue and show you the hidden tricks people are using and don’t want you to know for free.

In this first part, I will show you some very basic Adsense tweeks which I guarantee WILL increase your revenue so long as you follow what I write so lets get started:

The first thing you should know is that in general visitors to your website know what an advert looks like and tend to stay away from clicking on one unless it’s something they really really want. So how do you combat that? Well, you make your advert blend in to your website. Sounds obvious? Yes, but it really does work. So if your website background colour is “blue”, then make your adsense background colour also “blue”. Don’t use any borders on the ad as this too makes it look like an ad. Make the other parts of the advert a dull colour such as grey for the text and green for the url display under the ad, but make the main link “Blue”. Visitors still see “blue” as a link and any other colour gets missed. So lets recap, on a white background, your adsense ad should be a blue link, grey text, green url, borderless and a white background.

So what about size of the ad? Well, standard banner sizes are perceived as banner ads. So not good. Use the box version of a google ad, this works much better or use several banner size ads on top of each other, which then looks like a bigger box version ad.

How about location? Place the ads, so that they are the first thing visitors to your website sees if youre not too bothered about the layout of your site. Each ad should be “Above the fold”, that is in the top half of your webpage. If you’re using the link units, then make them look like the other normal links on your page and place them as part of your page navigation. Get the idea? Blend Blend and Blend. The more the ads look like part of your sites content, the more they will get clicked. By following these simple rules, you can triple or even quadruple your adsense earnings.

Part 2 coming soon…..

Demographic Transition

February 25th, 2007 · No Comments

Ok, today instead of ranting about society in general, I’ve decided to cover a topic which I call demographic transition and at the same time introduce you to a site which seems to be overlooked but is very useful. That site belongs to Microsoft and can be found here : http://adlab.microsoft.com . Now far be it to promote yet another Microsoft site, however this one is very good and will help you a lot to understand your market. To show you what I mean, I’ve run one of the tools on this site on Digg, FriendsReunited and a few others. The results are eye-opening to say the least. Keep reading →

My Days Out With Tony Blair (Part 2)

February 24th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Well carrying on from the nice time we had yesterday, I move onto the second wonder of “Great” Britain - Manchester or Madchester as it’s now known as. I was originally going to pick something else to cover today, but seeing as Manchester is getting a lot of news attention at the moment, I thought I’d cover a few of the “nice” areas that surround me.
